The opportunity An exciting opportunity exists in our Oil & Gas and Power division for a Heavy Fleet Services Superintendent located in Boca de Jaruco, Cuba. The Heavy Fleet Services Superintendent is responsible for the overall management, supervision and coordination of heavy fleet equipment maintenance, distribution and transportation services. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability and safe operation of equipment used in production, transportation and energy operations. The incumbent will lead a team of direct reports, oversee budgets and maintenance programs, and maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
This role is a full-time, residential (live-in) position located in Boca de Jaruco, Cuba.
In this role, you will be accountable for:
Supervising heavy fleet maintenance, repair, distribution, and transportation personnel to ensure efficient operations
Leading a skilled team capable of diagnosing, repairing, adjusting, and overhauling heavy-duty equipment, including light/heavy vehicles, trailers, pumps, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery
Scheduling and coordinating the distribution of heavy fleet equipment based on operational needs, and overseeing inspections prior to deployment and upon return
Managing transportation logistics, including dispatch coordination and scheduling, to ensure the safe and timely movement of equipment and materials
Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety compliance in alignment with regulatory standards
Ensuring all fleet equipment certifications are current and meet all relevant legal and safety requirements
Preparing detailed weekly reports and presenting operational updates and performance metrics to management
Supporting workforce training initiatives and enforcing safe work practices, policies, and procedures across all fleet operations
Developing and managing departmental budgets while aligning expenditures with operational goals and financial constraints
Collaborating with the Supply Chain team for effective sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of parts and equipment
Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing reliability, reducing downtime, and increasing operational efficiency in fleet services
Skills and attributes for success:
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience working with a wide range of heavy fleet equipment, including a minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification is required
Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems
Proven ability to interpret schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings
Excellent problem-solving and planning abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Core or similar platforms is considered an asset
Valid driver’s license (required)
Fluency in English (oral and written) is required; Spanish language skills is considered an asset
