Position Summary
The Inspector, Asset Integrity is accountable for completing integrity assessments of static equipment, providing quality control for repairs and new construction activities and for reporting on equipment condition as per the requirements of Sherritt’s Pressure Equipment Integrity Management System (PIEMS) and Quality Control Manual.

Accountabilities
  • Contribute and adhere to continual improvement and application of Inspection standards, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with all current regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Comply with current regulatory requirements, consistent with Sherritt’s objectives to deliver zero harm to employees, the environment, and neighboring communities.
  • Utilize the Asset Integrity best practices, foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking, technical innovation, and improving management systems.
  • Sustain communication networks for inspection activities to cross-functional departments within the work flow process, such as Reliability, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Develop inspection test plans to meet Sherritt’s PEIMS manual and recommended practices for static equipment.
  • Execute static equipment inspections to relevant codes, procedures, and practices.
  • Create work requests and provide quality control guidance to maintenance for static equipment repairs.
  • Report on the condition of static equipment using Sherritt’s integrity database.
  • Provide work instruction to NDE contractors and ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are being met while on site.
  • Act as a QA/QC representative for 3rd party constructed activities for the Sherritt Site
  • Provide input to Engineering to ensure regulatory compliance and good quality control practices are met during the creation of Engineering scopes of work 8. Support the development of weekly and long term inspection schedules based on established equipment frequencies, and plant requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Certified Engineering Technologist or Professional Engineer Designation (Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical) or +5 years working as a Journeyman Welder or Pipefitter
  •  ABSA IPV or IPBV Designation
  •  API 510, API 570, API 653, & CWB Level 2 Certifications
  •  Minimum of 5 years of NDE Experience (MT, PT, UT and RT)
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and repair procedures related to pressure equipment (pressure vessels, boilers, tanks, piping, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of jurisdictional inspection requirements (ABSA, AER, Safety Codes Act, etc.)
