The opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our Supply Chain department within the Metals division for a Coordinator, Strategic Sourcing (18-month term) located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The purpose of this position is to execute strategic sourcing initiatives and administer contracts.

In this role, you will be accountable for:
  • Managing the full contract cycle of assigned contracts, including formation, amendments, and close-out, while engaging legal support where needed and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Leading competitive bid processes, including issuing tenders, evaluating bids, and negotiating to deliver the best value.
  • Driving continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing documentation, templates, and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and contract owners.
  • Championing a customer-focused culture and leading cross-functional teams through the bid process.
Skills and attributes for success:
  • SCMP designation or equivalent experience with 8+ years in strategic sourcing.
  • Expertise in contracting law, best practices, and contract writing.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience in tenders, bid evaluations, contract formation, and supplier performance management.
  • Ability to leverage market insights and data analysis to drive category strategies and business decisions.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement across all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
