The opportunity
An exciting 18-month opportunity exists in our Finance team within our Oil, Gas & Power Division. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for completing financial consolidation and enhancement of reporting, analyses and business intelligence data to key stakeholders within the Oil, Gas and Power Division and the Corporate office.
In this role, you will be accountable for:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports and analysis of performance to the strictest standards of accounting and the law.
- Responsible for consolidation entries and reporting deliverables to the Corporate office, ensuring integrity of external reporting for the Division.
- Prepare legal entity financial statements and manage audit for SICOG and SUI.
- Support the internal control testing process for the Division in accordance with regulations such as ESTMA and 52‐109 requirements and prepare quarterly reporting to support divisional sub‐certifications.
- Execute work required for adoption of new accounting standards under IFRS and advise on the accounting impact of business changes resulting in new or non‐routine transactions.
- Prepare supporting documentation for the annual external audit and quarterly reviews for the Division and respond to audit inquiries as necessary.
- Provide financial advice as a business partner to the members of the management team.
- Support operational accounting, including preparing and booking entries.
Skills and attributes for success:
- A University degree in Business or a related field.
- A CPA Designation is required.
- Five years of related experience in a public or complex company.
- Experience in accounting data analysis, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and integrate new technologies, optimizing processes and enhancing operational efficiency
- Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Excellent time management skills, effectively prioritizing tasks and balancing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
